CAM CUSTOM CUES
Maker of Pool Cues in Guthrie, OK
Chad McLennan started playing pool as soon as he could hold a cue. His grandfather played pool his whole life and was eager to show Chad the ropes. All of his life Chad has been a very artistic person. He has always been interested in creating things with his hands including being a very skillful jazz trumpet musician.
At the age of 24, Chad became mesmerized by the craft of pool cues. He obtained his first lathe from Jeff Prather of Prather cues. It was an old belt-driven Atlas lathe that he still uses today. Chad began his woodworking experience by making joint protectors, an art which he quickly mastered and turned into the successful BilliardKing Joint Protectors.
Chad’s interest in custom pool cues drove him to study the process of making pool cues. He spent countless nights watching videos, reading books and doing extensive research into creating a pool cue. He was fortunate enough to watch local cue builders too.
Chad’s cues are exceptional for their “old school” qualities. Chad cuts each and every point by hand and makes every one of his cue components, with exception to the tips, screws and bumpers. Chad is a very young cue maker at only 27 years old and is fairly new to the pool cue business, but don’t let his youth fool you…his cues are comparable to some of the best in the business.
